The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the consumer confidence index data for March.
Accordingly, the seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index, calculated from the results of the “Consumer Tendency Survey” carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, decreased by 2.9 percent in March compared to February.
In the current period, the financial situation index of the household, which was 82.5 last month, decreased by 2.9 percent to 80.1 in March.
While the financial situation expectation index of the household in the next 12 months period was 84.2 in February, it decreased by 5.5 percent this month and became 79.6.
The general economic situation expectation index in the next 12 months period, which was 85.8 in February, lost its value by 3.3 percent and was recorded as 83 this month.
While the index of thinking about spending on durable goods in the next 12 months was 94.5 in February, it was determined as 92 with a decrease of 2.7 percent in March.
The consumer tendency survey was not conducted in the provinces of Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya and Osmaniye, which were affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake disaster.
