The number of companies established decreased by 33.5 percent to 9 thousand 473 in February compared to the previous month, and the number of companies closed down decreased by 24.8 percent to 1178.
The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) announced the statistics of established and closed companies for February.
Accordingly, the number of companies established in February, when the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes occurred, decreased by 33.5 percent compared to January, from 14 thousand 240 to 9 thousand 473. The number of companies closed in the same period decreased by 24.8 percent to 1178. In January, 1566 companies were closed.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of companies established in February decreased by 3.8 percent, while the number of companies closed increased by 52.4 percent.
