The US Department of Commerce announced the current account balance data for the period of October-December 2022.
Accordingly, the country’s current account deficit decreased by 5.6 percent in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the previous quarter and became 206.8 billion dollars. In the said period, the current account deficit data, which decreased more than the market expectations, was expected to be 213.3 billion dollars.
In the USA, the current account deficit data for the third quarter of 2022 was revised from $ 217.1 billion to $ 219 billion.
The ratio of the country’s current account deficit to GDP was calculated as 3.2 percent in the fourth quarter. This rate was recorded as 3.4 percent in the third quarter.
The current account deficit of the USA increased by 11.5% in 2022 and reached 943.8 billion dollars. The ratio of current account deficit to GDP was 3.7 percent last year. This rate was recorded as 3.6 percent in 2021.
