According to the January “Petroleum Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, imports of crude oil, which constitute the largest item in Turkey’s total oil imports, decreased by 13.56 percent and amounted to 2 million 255 thousand 846 tons.

In this period, the import of diesel types increased by 8.71 percent to 777 thousand 24 tons. Fuel-oil types, aviation and marine fuels made up the remaining part of the imports.

Thus, total imports decreased by 3.63 percent in January compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3 million 449 thousand 668 tons.

The largest import of crude oil and petroleum products was made from Russia with 1 million 180 thousand 975 tons, followed by Iraq with 917 thousand 656 tons and Kazakhstan with 633 thousand 740 tons.

On the other hand, gasoline sales increased by 17.8 percent in January compared to the same month of the previous year and became 263 thousand 180 tons, diesel sales increased by 5.38 percent to 1 million 799 thousand 3 tons.

Total petroleum products sales increased by 7.31 percent and were recorded as 2 million 208 thousand 923 tons.


Exports of petroleum products increased by 8.45 percent

Turkey’s aviation fuel exports increased by 7.81 percent in January compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 275 thousand 594 tons.

In the said period, the export of marine fuels decreased by 45.32 percent to 113 thousand 859 tons.

Exports of gasoline types decreased by 54.04 percent to 51 thousand 452 tons, while exports of diesel types increased by 101.9 percent to 338 thousand 21 tons.

When other products in the oil market are added, total exports increased by 8.45 percent to 999 thousand 942 tons.

In January, the production of diesel types increased by 9.93 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and became 1 million 390 thousand 59 tons, the production of gasoline types decreased by 8.75 percent to 285 thousand 631 tons, and the production of aviation fuels increased by 1.55 percent to 371 thousand 730 tons.

Marine fuels production decreased by 61.50 percent and was calculated as 71 thousand 826 tons. Total refinery petroleum products production with other fuel types decreased by approximately 10.85 percent and became 2 million 684 thousand 745 tons.
