According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey’s exports increased by 4.4 percent last month compared to the same period of 2022 and reached 23.6 billion dollars.

In March, the foreign sales of the air conditioning sector increased by 8.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 670 million 767 thousand dollars. The share of the sector in Turkey’s exports last month was recorded as 2.8 percent.

Exports of the Turkish air conditioning industry increased by 9.1 percent in the first quarter compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1.7 billion dollars.


Most export to Germany

In the first quarter of the year, the highest export was made to Germany with 190.8 million dollars. Germany was followed by Italy with $127 million, Russia with $125 million and the United Kingdom with $116 million. Other countries with the highest exports were France, Spain, Iraq and Poland.

The province with the highest export volume in the sector in the first quarter was Istanbul with 672.5 million dollars. Istanbul was followed by Manisa with 214.3 million dollars, Kocaeli with 158.3 million dollars, İzmir with 137.9 million dollars and Bursa with 124.2 million dollars.


“Exports import coverage ratio is 92.8 percent”

Mehmet Hakkı Şanal, President of the Air Conditioning Industry Exporters’ Association (ISIB), stated that the air conditioning industry reached the highest figure of all time in its sector with an export volume of 670.7 million dollars as of March 2023.

Şanal stated that while the export growth of the sector is above the average of Turkey’s exports, the ratio of exports to imports is 92.8 percent, “The Turkish air conditioning sector, which has increased its exports in all sub-product groups except for the insulation materials sub-sector, in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period of 2022, the heating system and Exports increased by 7.9 percent in the sub-sector of personnel, 3.9 percent in the sub-sector of cooling systems and elements, 11.3 percent in air conditioning systems and elements, 11 percent in installation systems and elements, and 16.6 percent in ventilation systems and elements. While the unit price was $5.2 in the first quarter of 2022, it increased to $6.3 in the same period of this year. used the phrases.


“We see an increase in demand for heat pumps”

Şanal emphasized that they are taking firm steps towards getting a 1.5 percent share from the world market, which is their main goal, and said:

“The figures for the first quarter of 2023 also support this. We are doing serious work in terms of marketing and communication for our exporters, together with all industry stakeholders. This year, 13 fairs from Russia to Slovakia, from Senegal to Indonesia have been held in a wide perspective. We will organize more than 40 events in line with the targets of our exporters until the end of the year. We have increased our effectiveness in the European market by participating in ISH Frankfurt 2023, one of the biggest fairs of our sector, with 128 companies, last month. ISK, which will be held this year, We will organize a large purchasing committee for the Sodex Fair. Our biggest goal is to bring our exporters together with the right buyers in this event as well.”

Stating that they continue their production activities in order to provide devices and equipment, especially heat pumps, which are in serious demand for changing energy usage types in Europe, Şanal said, “The heat pump market in Europe, which is developing and growing rapidly, is the result of the Russia-Ukraine market experienced last year. reached its highest point with the natural gas shortage due to the war. “We see an increase in investments from abroad to Turkey. We believe that the new period will be very active and productive for our Turkish companies.” he said.
