The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the consumer confidence index data for April.
Accordingly, the seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index, calculated from the results of the “Consumer Tendency Survey” carried out in cooperation with TURKSTAT and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, increased by 9.2 percent in April compared to the previous month. The index, which was 80.1 in March, was recorded as 87.5 in April.
In the current period, the financial situation index of the household, which was 66 last month, increased by 4.6 percent to 69.1 in April.
The financial situation expectation index of the household in the next 12 months period, which was 79.6 in March, increased by 12.8 percent this month to 89.8.
The general economic situation expectation index in the next 12 months period, which was 83 in March, gained 14.7 percent and was recorded as 95.2 this month.
While the index of the idea of spending on durable goods in the next 12 months was 92 in March, it was calculated as 96.1 with an increase of 4.5 percent in April.
The consumer tendency survey could not be conducted in Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya and Osmaniye, which were affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake disaster in March. For April, a Consumer Tendency Survey was conducted in 81 provinces, including the regions affected by the earthquake.
