The Competition Board imposed an administrative fine of 2.7 billion liras on 5 chain markets and 1 supplier company in 2021 in the investigation carried out on chain markets and supplier companies to examine price behavior during the coronavirus epidemic process.

The undertakings in question filed a lawsuit at the 7th Administrative Court of Ankara for the stay of execution and annulment of the administrative penalty. In the court cases, the request for a stay of execution was previously rejected for all undertakings. Ankara 7th Administrative Court decided to reject all cases on 14 March 2023. It was concluded that the decision of the Board regarding the undertakings was in accordance with the law. It is stated that the court’s decision is open to appeal.
