According to the temporary foreign trade statistics created by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Trade, Turkey’s total imports in March increased by 3.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 31 billion 936 million dollars.

5 billion 844 million 139 thousand dollars of this amount was composed of “mineral fuels, mineral oils and products obtained from their distillation, bituminous substances, mineral waxes”, summarized as energy imports.

In March last year, this figure was recorded as 8 billion 410 million 156 thousand dollars. Thus, the amount of energy imports decreased by 30.5 percent on an annual basis.

On the other hand, crude oil imports decreased by 5.2 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year, and decreased to 2 million 528 thousand 964 tons.
