Temporary foreign trade data for March, created in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Trade, were announced.

Accordingly, within the scope of the General Trade System (GTS), exports increased by 4.4 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 23 billion 595 million dollars, while imports increased by 3.4 percent to 31 billion 936 million dollars.

Foreign trade deficit increased by 0.9 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 8 billion 341 million dollars.

The ratio of exports to imports increased from 73.2 percent in March 2022 to 73.9 percent last month.

In the January-March period, exports increased by 2.5 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year and reached 61 billion 558 million dollars, while imports increased by 11.1 percent to 96 billion 250 million dollars.

Foreign trade deficit increased by 30.7 percent in the January-March period and reached 26 billion 537 million dollars.

While the ratio of exports to imports was 69.4 percent in January-March 2022, it decreased to 64 percent in the same period of this year.


Foreign trade excluding energy and gold

Exports, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, increased by 3.7 percent in March from 21 billion 201 million dollars to 21 billion 977 million dollars. In March, imports excluding energy products and non-monetary gold increased by 14.2% from 21 billion 427 million dollars to 24 billion 462 million dollars.

Foreign trade deficit, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, amounted to 2 billion 485 million dollars in March. Foreign trade volume increased by 8.9 percent and rose to 46 billion 439 million dollars. In the said month, the ratio of exports to imports excluding energy and gold was 89.8 percent.
