Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) President Mustafa Yılmaz stated that the procedures and principles regarding free natural gas and subsequent discounts have been determined and that no consumer’s right will be lost.
Yılmaz made a written statement regarding the decision, which was published with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, that the subscribers of residences, places of worship and cemevis supplying natural gas from distribution companies are not charged for 1 month and that the price equivalent to 25 cubic meters will be free for 1 year.
EMRA Chairman Yılmaz used the following statements in his statement;
Our citizens should not have any hesitation about free natural gas and the subsequent discount. We have determined the procedures and principles. We talked to distribution companies and sent the necessary letter. Absolutely none of our consumers’ rights will be lost. The collected invoices, if any, will be canceled and returned to our citizens. Prepaid meter users will also benefit from the application. One month’s consumption will be determined and the following month, that amount of natural gas will be loaded on our citizens’ card free of charge.
