Presidential decisions on the subject were published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, fishing vessel owners fishing in sea and inland waters in provinces declared disaster areas due to the earthquakes that occurred on 6 February will be supported to compensate for the loss of income due to the fishing activities they could not perform and to ensure the sustainability of their fishing activities.

A one-time support payment will be made per vessel between February 6, 2023 and December 31, 2023, for all fishing vessels operating at sea, registered in Adana and Hatay and holding a valid fisheries license as of February 6 and before.

According to the length group, 5 thousand liras in Adana for 0-4.99 meters fishing vessels, 10 thousand liras in Hatay, 7 thousand 500 liras in Adana for 5-9.99 meters fishing vessels, 15 thousand liras in Hatay 10 thousand liras in Adana, 20 thousand liras in Hatay for fishing vessels of 10-11.99 meters, 15 thousand liras in Adana and 30 thousand liras in Hatay for 12-14.99 meters of fishing vessels.

The amount of support per ship is 20 thousand liras in Adana, 40 thousand liras in Hatay for fishing vessels with a length of 15-19,99 meters, 25 thousand liras in Adana for 20-29.99 meters of fishing vessels, and 50 thousand in Hatay. For fishing vessels of 30 meters and above, it will be 30 thousand liras in Adana and 60 thousand liras in Hatay.

Support payment will also be made for fishing vessels operating in inland waters, registered in Adana, Adıyaman, Elazığ, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa, which are declared disaster areas, and have valid licenses as of February 6 and before.

Accordingly, the support amount per ship is 3 thousand 500 liras for 0-4.99 meters fishing vessels, 4 thousand 250 liras for 5-7.99 meters fishing vessels, 5 thousand 250 liras for 8-9.99 meters fishing vessels, It was determined as 6 thousand liras for 10-11.99 meters fishing vessels.


Support to aquaculture enterprises

With the other decision, the procedures and principles regarding the support of aquaculture enterprises, whose production facilities were damaged in the provinces declared disaster areas due to the earthquakes on 6 February, were regulated in order to ensure the continuity of their activities.

In this context, to the fisheries breeders who were registered in the Fisheries Information System and had aquaculture certificate on or before February 6, 2023, and whose production facilities were damaged after the damage was determined by the provincial-district agriculture directorates in the mentioned provinces, 6 February 2023 – 31 December 2023 Support payments will be made only once.

Enterprises will be provided with 0,2 lira fish roe aid per piece, 1 lira juvenile fish aid per piece, 30 lira portion fish aid per kilogram, and 250 lira rootstock fish aid per piece.

In calculating the amount that the business can benefit from, the amounts recorded by determining the damage will be taken into account. The decisions entered into force with effect from 6 February.
