The “Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Trade of Second-Hand Motor Vehicles” prepared by the Ministry of Commerce was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
According to the current legislation, while it is necessary to have an authorization certificate in order to engage in second-hand motor land vehicle trade, the regulations regarding the cancellation of the authorization certificate have been determined.
With the amendment of the regulation, authorized dealers engaged in the trade of first registered motor land vehicles, refrain from selling the vehicle even though they have it in stock, demand a price higher than the sales price of the vehicle recommended by the manufacturer or distributor, force the consumer to buy accessories or exchange, or force the exchange price to exceed the market price significantly. In the statement made by the Ministry on the subject, it was reminded that the activities of manufacturers, suppliers and retail businesses that create tightness in the market and prevent consumers from reaching the goods are prohibited by accepting “stocking” in the Law on the Regulation of Retail Trade.

“The compliance of businesses with this ban is closely monitored by our Ministry, and heavy administrative fines continue to be imposed on businesses that engage in unlawful practices.
