The United Nations (UN) Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), which was established in 1947 to contribute to the economic integration in Europe and cooperation among the member states, held the 7th Public-Private Sector Cooperation (PPP) Forum on 3-5 May in Greece. held in Athens, the capital.

1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway became one of the 5 finalists in the organization, where 48 of the 70 international projects applied for the competition were evaluated.

The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, which was awarded the first prize in the competition where the winner was determined by the votes of the forum delegates, was awarded by Tony Bonnici, Head of UNECE Public-Private Partnerships Department, and George Katapodis, Head of UNECE PPPs Working Group, 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Highway Deputy General Manager for Finance. It was given to Murat Sarikaya.

Sarıkaya, whose views were included in the statement, stated that the project has won more than 20 awards so far, but this has a special importance.

Sarıkaya said, “Our project to support the Gallipoli Women’s Cooperative, which we forwarded for the competition organized with the theme of ‘circular economy’ this year, is only one of the 321 environmental and social projects realized by the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway. With these projects, we support a significant part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We continue to create value for our stakeholders, the region and our country.” she used the phrase.

1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway was deemed worthy of the Green World Awards gold level Award, which aims to promote and encourage the best environmental practices worldwide, by The Green Organization in 2020 for its environmental work. The project has so far won 12 finance awards, 2 environmental and social awards, 4 employment awards and 3 engineering awards.
