Accordingly, the number of unemployed persons aged 15 and over increased by 4 thousand in March compared to the previous month and reached 3 million 508 thousand people. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 10.0 percent. While the unemployment rate was 8.1 percent for men, it was estimated to be 13.8 percent for women.
The number of people employed increased by 37 thousand people in March 2023 compared to the previous month and became 31 million 462 thousand people, while the employment rate remained unchanged at 48.2 percent. While this rate was 66.0 percent for men, it was 30.7 percent for women.
In March 2023, the workforce increased by 41 thousand people compared to the previous month and reached 34 million 970 thousand people, while the labor force participation rate remained unchanged at 53.6 percent. While the labor force participation rate was 71.9 percent for men, it was 35.7 percent for women.
Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the youth population was 20.1 percent
Unemployment rate among the young population covering the 15-24 age group became 20.1 percent with an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to the previous month. Unemployment rate in this age group; It was estimated at 15.2 percent for men and 28.9 percent for women.
The average weekly actual working time, adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, was 44.5 hours.
