Turkish Statistical Institute announced the agricultural PPI data for April.

Accordingly, while the index in question decreased by 2.32 percent in April compared to the previous month, there was an increase of 17.72 percent compared to December of the previous year, 71.52 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 134.06 percent compared to the 12-month averages.

Looking at the change in the sectors compared to the previous month, there was a decrease of 2.51 percent in agricultural-hunting products and related services. Fish and other fishery products increased by 0.49 percent, and forestry products and related services increased by 3.16 percent.

In the main groups, there was a 16.56 percent decrease in perennial herbal products and 0.43 percent in one-year herbal products compared to the previous month, while there was a 5.78 percent increase in live animals and animal products.

According to the monthly Agricultural-PPI, 1 subgroup showed a lower change and 10 subgroups showed a higher change.

The subgroups where the decrease was higher compared to the previous month were fibrous plants with 9.72 percent, vegetables with 0.12 percent, and melon-watermelon, roots and tubers, respectively. On the other hand, the subgroups in which the monthly increase was high were determined as 20.69 percent of other tree and shrub fruits and hard-shelled fruits, 10.88 percent of sheep and goats, live animals and their unprocessed milk and fleece.

According to the annual Agri-PPI, 4 subgroups showed lower changes and 7 subgroups showed higher changes. The subgroups with low annual increase were vegetables and melon-watermelon roots and tubers with 35.85 percent, cereals (excluding rice), legumes and oilseeds with 49.99 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, the subgroups with the highest annual increase were recorded as citrus fruits with 167.15%, live cattle (including buffalo) with 135.86 percent, and unprocessed milk obtained from them, respectively. The only subgroup with an annual decrease was calculated as fibrous plants with 13.7%.

While the average price of 27 of the 77 items included in the index decreased, the average price of 44 of them increased.
