The Communiqué on the Implementation of Surveillance in Imports, prepared by the Ministry of Commerce, was published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, the procedures and principles regarding the prospective surveillance practice in the import of porcelain tableware and kitchenware, other household and toilet articles, ceramic tableware and kitchenware, other household goods and toilet articles, ceramic statuettes and other ornaments have been determined. The products in question will be imported with a surveillance certificate to be issued by the Ministry.

Applications for surveillance document requests will be made with an electronic signature in the “Introduction to E-Signature Applications” section in the “Import Document Transactions” section under “E-Services” and “E-Transactions” on the website of the Ministry within the scope of the Customs Single Window System. Applications can also be made via e-Government.


Updated unit customs value figures for some products

The “Communiqués on amending the communiqué on the implementation of surveillance in imports” of the Ministry were also published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the unit customs value figures determined for the glassware defined product group for table, kitchen, toilet, office, home decoration (ornaments) and similar works were updated. The customs value figures for these products will vary between 1300 dollars and 6 thousand 500 dollars per ton.

In order to closely monitor the imports of new generation domestically produced products such as airfryers, robot vacuums, upright vacuums and stand mixers and to investigate the realization conditions of imports with low unit prices, the imports of the goods with a unit value below the determined customs values ​​will be subject to surveillance regardless of country. The customs value for these products has been updated to be between $10 and $200 per piece.

The communiqués will enter into force on the 30th day following the publication date.
