According to the temporary foreign trade statistics created by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Trade, Turkey’s total imports in April decreased by 4.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and became 28 billion 69 million dollars.

4 billion 958 million 148 thousand dollars of this amount was composed of “mineral fuels, mineral oils and products obtained from their distillation, bituminous substances, mineral waxes”, summarized as energy imports.

In April last year, this figure was recorded as 7 billion 783 million 865 thousand dollars. Thus, the amount of energy imports decreased by 36.3 percent on an annual basis.

On the other hand, crude oil imports decreased by 33.7 percent in April compared to the same month of the previous year and decreased to 1 million 998 thousand 740 tons.
