At the first Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting chaired by Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan, the policy rate was increased from 8.5 percent to 15 percent.
After the decision, which caused dynamism in the markets, Central Bank Governor Erkan met with the bank managers.
The meeting, which took place at Ziraat Bank Headquarters in Istanbul Finance Center in Ataşehir, started around 16.00.
It was learned that Erkan will listen to the problems of the banking sector, the demands of the bankers and their suggestions for solutions to the problems.
