In addition to the city center of Antalya, which is among the important tourism destinations of the world, there is a density in all the facilities on the coast from Alanya district to Kaş.

The fact that expatriates abroad prefer the country for their holidays, schools are closed, the early 9-day holiday and the holidays of foreigners from all over the world in Turkey have added momentum to the sector. The occupancy rate in most of the facilities across the province reached 100 percent.

1124 flights were made to Antalya

The activity in the domestic and international terminals of Antalya Airport, which broke the record with 1124 flights on 24 June during the holiday period, still continues. Tourists also come by sea and land to the city, where an average of 985 flights are made daily from the airport.

Holidaymakers swim in the sea and sunbathe on the beaches that fascinate with their deep blue color, especially in Konyaaltı, Lara, Sarısu, Adrasan, Olympos, Incekum, Cleopatra, Kaputaş, Phaselis Ancient City, Patara, Side and Damlataş.

“There is serious occupancy”

Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association President Kaan Kavaloğlu told Anadolu Agency (AA) that there was a serious occupancy in Turkey’s holiday regions due to the Eid al-Adha.

Pointing out that Antalya is the center of tourism, Kavaloğlu said:

“Besides, the early announcement of the holiday, the closing of all schools, the end of exams, the 9-day Eid-al-Adha holiday significantly reinforced the domestic tourism movement. The occupancy rates approached 100 percent, which means the start of the season for us. July-August is the high occupancy season. September- I believe that October will be a good month too. The 9-day Eid al-Adha holiday, as a domestic tourism movement, has literally been like a medicine to us. Antalya is experiencing nearly 100 percent occupancy. The number of tourists coming to Antalya with package tours from the domestic market during the holiday holiday has exceeded 300 thousand. There is around 2 million domestic market dynamism across Turkey.

Pointing out that the foreign market activity continues, Kavaloğlu emphasized that around 5.5 million foreign tourists came to the city, an increase of 30 percent compared to the previous year.

Kavaloğlu stated that they are working seriously to achieve Turkey’s target of 56 billion dollars income and 60 million tourists, and said that the sector experienced a “double feast” in this process.

Explaining that Antalya is in serious demand during the holiday, Kavaloğlu said:

“The fact that the holiday coincided with the end of June was in our favor. We experience a lot of intensity from Alanya to Kaş. Antalya is in demand around the world in this sense. Turks living abroad also spend their holidays here. During the holiday, both the domestic tourism movement and the arrival of Turks living abroad. “The high season has started in Antalya, with the preference of both foreign guests. The activity will continue after the holiday.”

“Villas in Kas are 95 percent full”

Rıza Perçin, Chairman of the Mediterranean Regional Representative Board of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), said that the hotels in Kundu and Belek regions are completely full, and that the occupancy in Kemer is close to 100 percent.

Noting that they had an active period, Perçin said, “Olympos, Çıralı, Kaş Kalkan, Kekova are full. The villas in Kaş are 95 percent full. I guess there are around 600 thousand accommodation from the domestic market in the facilities during the holiday period.”
