The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the data on music, cinema and book band sales, the number of producer certificates issued in the field of music and cinema, the registration-registration procedures carried out within the scope of intellectual and artistic works, and the statistics of the fight against piracy for the first half of 2023.
According to the banderole statistics of the General Directorate of Copyrights, 182 million 895 thousand 180 book banderols were sold in the first 6 months of the year.
The number of books published increased by 20%
The number of published books, on the other hand, increased by 20 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 108 thousand 82.
In the first half of the year, within the scope of non-periodical publications, the highest number of banderole sales by type of work was realized in the publications in the education category, as in the previous year.
In the first 6 months, 72 million 668 thousand 316 banderols were sold in the field of education, 28 million 101 thousand 63 in the adult fiction literature category, 22 million 351 thousand 326 in the faith category, 3 million 781 thousand 300 in the academic field, 2 million 574 thousand 498 in the imported publications category, children’s 24 million 137 thousand 587 banderols were sold in the category of books, 27 million 648 thousand 152 in adult culture publications and 1 million 632 thousand 938 in the category of youth books.
Optional registration reached 1073
The number of optional registration-registration transactions made in line with the request of the right holders reached 1073 in the first 6 months.
The most beneficial group of beneficiaries from the registration-registration process carried out at the request of the authors was computer programs with 527 registrations.
In the same period, 291 science and literature, 165 fine arts, 49 music and 41 cinema works were registered.
254 cinema and 174 music producer certificates were issued in the first half of 2023 by the General Directorate of Copyrights. The total number of active producer certificates rose to 2,383.
237 movies, 1008 music productions registered
For cinema and music productions and computer games, 1249 registration procedures were completed and 578 thousand 936 banderols were sold.
While 237 productions were registered in the field of cinema, 23 thousand 965 banderols were sold. In the field of music, 1008 productions were registered and 531 thousand 39 banderols were sold. In digital games, 4 registrations were made and 23 thousand 932 banderols were sold.
26,733 pirated material seized
According to the data received from the Security Department of the General Directorate of Security, the Provincial Inspection Commissions operating in 81 provinces within the scope of the fight against piracy carried out 285 operations in the first 6 months of the year. During the operations, 300 people were processed, 26 thousand 733 materials were seized.
