Turkish Statistical Institute announced retail sales indices for May.
Accordingly, the volume of retail sales at constant prices increased by 2.1 percent in May compared to the previous month. In this period, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 2.5 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) by 2 percent, and automotive fuel sales by 2.2 percent.
Retail sales volume at constant prices increased by 28.4 percent in May compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same period, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 22.6 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 36.9 percent, and automotive fuel sales increased by 10.9 percent.
Retail turnover
Retail turnover at current prices increased by 80.7 percent in May compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month, sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 87.5 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) by 109.7 percent, and automotive fuel sales by 5.1 percent.
Retail turnover increased by 4.6 percent in May compared to the previous month. In the same month, sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 5.5 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) by 5.5 percent, while automotive fuel sales decreased by 0.9 percent.
