The use of air conditioners and agricultural irrigations, which increased in parallel with the increase in air temperatures throughout the country, led to peak values in electricity consumption.
According to the information compiled from the data of Türkiye Elektrik Üretim A.Ş., the highest electricity consumption level of the year was recorded in Turkey on a daily basis with 1 million 58 thousand 962 megawatt-hours yesterday. Thus, the record of 1 million 27 thousand 568 megawatt-hours in electricity consumption on July 12 was exceeded.
On an hourly basis, the lowest electricity consumption was seen at 07.00 with 33 thousand 370 megawatt hours yesterday. The highest electricity consumption was realized at 15.00 with 50 thousand 869 megawatt hours.
1 million 48 thousand 783 megawatt hours of electricity was produced on a daily basis in Turkey yesterday.
22.6 percent of the said production was met from imported coal, 22.1 percent from natural gas and 17.6 percent from hydroelectric power plants with dams, and the rest from other sources.
On the other hand, 6 thousand 208 megawatt-hours of electricity were exported and 16,387 megawatt-hours of electricity was imported yesterday.
