The Board decision of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority was published in the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, within the framework of the legislation on the electricity market and the relevant letter of the General Directorate of Free Zones of the Ministry of Commerce, pre-license or generation licenses will be granted to legal entities wishing to engage in electricity generation activities only to meet their own needs, provided that the ministry gives a positive opinion in free zones.
In the event that electricity is produced beyond the need in the facilities subject to generation licenses, this electricity will not be subject to sale in any way.
Regarding the unlicensed generation facilities established in the said regions, action will be taken within the scope of the Unlicensed Electricity Generation Regulation in the Electricity Market.
In addition, the works and transactions within the scope of license amendment requests regarding the existing production facilities in the said regions will continue.
