Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union Deputy Chairman of the Board Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan said that tea was sold to 109 countries, autonomous and free zones in 7 months from the country.
Gürdoğan stated that 3 thousand 576 tons of tea was exported in the January-July period of this year, and an income of 17 million 182 thousand 55 dollars was obtained.
Expressing that 13 million 170 thousand 966 dollars were earned from tea exports in the same period of last year, Gürdoğan continued his words as follows:
“Our tea exports increased by 30 percent in value compared to the same period of the previous year. Belgium, the USA and the United Kingdom became the 3 countries with the highest exports. This period to Belgium 6 million 926 thousand 4, to the USA 2 million 210 thousand 244, the United Kingdom Tea for 1 million 930 thousand 622 dollars was exported to Turkey.
Noting that the diversity of countries increased in parallel with the increase in exports, Gürdoğan stated that tea was also sold to Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Congo, Slovakia, Mexico, Italy, Brazil, Poland, Gabon, New Zealand, Portugal, Angola, Togo and Rwanda during this period.
Noting that the interest in Turkish tea is increasing day by day, Gürdoğan noted that they are hopeful that tea exports will continue to increase until the end of the year.
