According to the compilation made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure from the data of the State Airports Authority, in the January-July period, 500 thousand 886 domestic flights and 447 thousand 927 international flights were carried out at Turkish airports.
With the overpasses, the traffic increased by 19 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1 million 216 thousand 748 in total.
During this period, 51 million 820 thousand 711 passengers on domestic lines and 66 million 724 thousand 226 passengers on international flights were served at the airports. Mobility with direct transit passengers increased by 22.7 percent and reached 118 million 670 thousand 160.
Mobility in tourism regions was reflected in the number of passengers
In the 7 months of this year, there was an increase in the number of passengers at the airports providing transportation to Turkey’s tourism centers.
In the January-July period, compared to the same period of the previous year, a total of 290 thousand 11 aircraft traffic, 75 thousand 351 on domestic lines and 214 thousand 660 on international lines, was realized at Istanbul Airport. There was a total of 43 million 326 thousand 198 passenger traffic, including 10 million 614 thousand 115 on domestic lines and 32 million 712 thousand 83 on international lines. In the said period, the number of passengers increased by around 26 percent.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport hosted 9 million 766 thousand 747 passengers on domestic flights and 10 million 805 thousand 341 passengers on international flights. The total number of passengers rose to 20 million 572 thousand 88 with an increase of 23.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
The total number of passengers at Antalya Airport, 3 million 530 thousand 805 on domestic flights and 14 million 853 thousand 144 on international flights, increased by 21.04 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and became 18 million 383 thousand 949.
While the number of passengers at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport increased by 9.3 percent to 5 million 886 thousand 877, the number of passengers hosted at Muğla Dalaman Airport increased by 18.8 percent to 2 million 706 thousand 576. The number of passengers using Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport increased by 6.36 percent to 2 million 141 thousand 266.
The number of people who preferred Adana Airport increased by 18.88 percent to 2 million 632 thousand 761. The number of passengers receiving service from Gaziantep Airport increased by 10.2 percent to 1 million 427 thousand 559. 1 million 955 thousand 951 in Trabzon, 1 million 298 thousand 176 in Kayseri, 1 million 161 thousand 998 in Diyarbakır, 540 thousand 998 in Şanlıurfa GAP, 466 thousand 238 passengers in Gazipaşa Alanya.
Thus, in the January-July period of this year, the number of airline passengers reached 102 million 500 thousand 625 with an increase of 22 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
