Turkish Statistical Institute announced the retail sales indices for July.
Accordingly, retail sales volume at constant prices increased by 2.7 percent in July compared to the previous month. During this period, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 5.9 percent, while automotive fuel sales decreased by 1 percent and food, beverage and tobacco sales decreased by 2.4 percent.
Retail sales volume at constant prices increased by 31 percent in July compared to the same month last year. In the same period, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 19.1 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 41.8 percent and automotive fuel sales increased by 17 percent.
Retail turnover
Retail turnover at current prices increased by 93.3 percent in July compared to the same month last year. In the same month, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 84.4 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 124.3 percent, and automotive fuel sales increased by 38.1 percent.
Retail turnover increased by 12 percent in July compared to the previous month. In the same month, an increase of 3.7 percent in food, beverage and tobacco sales, 13.5 percent in non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) and 23.9 percent in automotive fuel sales were recorded.
