Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association President Celal Kadooğlu, Bulgur Industrialists Association President Bekir Sıtkı Dayıoğlu and sector representatives came together.
In his speech here, Kadooğlu stated that necessary efforts will be made to introduce bulgur, which is obtained as a result of great efforts from wheat grown in the fertile lands of Anatolia, in the world.
Stating that more than 1 million 200 thousand tons of bulgur is produced annually in Turkey, Kadooğlu said:
“Approximately 250 thousand tons of our bulgur production is exported. In the January-August period, bulgur worth 85 million 386 thousand dollars was exported throughout the country, 39 million 939 thousand dollars of this export was made by companies in our region. Bulgur is mostly exported to the Middle East. The country “Iraq ranks first in bulgur based bulgur exports, while Russia ranks second and Syria ranks third. We will carry out promotional activities in cooperation with 6 associations in our sector in order to increase the share of Turkish bulgur, which has an important value in terms of health, in the world markets and to promote bulgur in 7 continents.”
