According to the statement made by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Istanbul Exporters sold products to 196 country markets in the first 8 months of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year, and increased their share in the country’s exports to 5.2 percent.
In the first 8 months of the year, the Union’s exporters made the most exports in terms of value to Iraq with 487 million dollars. The most poultry, animal products, furniture, paper and forest products were sold to Iraq. After Iraq, the highest exports in terms of value were made to the United States, Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom.
In the exports made by IIB, grains, pulses, oilseeds, furniture, paper, forest products to the USA, ships, yachts and services to Norway, hazelnuts and their products and grains, pulses, oilseeds to Germany, furniture to the United Kingdom, Paper and forest products, grains, pulses and oilseeds came to the fore.
European Union countries come first
Based on country groups, the region to which IIB exported the most was the European Union countries with 1 billion 535 million dollars. Exports to European Union countries increased by 16 percent in the first 8 months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year.
Istanbul Exporters’ Associations exported 1 billion 130 million dollars in August, with an increase of 18.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Istanbul Exporters made the most exports in August to Norway, Iraq, the United States, Italy and the United Kingdom.
