BIST 100 index, which moved in an upward trend in the first half of the day, increased by 200.20 points compared to the previous close, reaching 8,239.38 as of 13:00. The total transaction volume amounted to 74.8 billion lira.
The banking index gained 1.97 percent and the holding index gained 1.82 percent. Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was stone and soil with 7.03 percent, and the one that decreased the most was securities and investment trusts with 0.17 percent.
Analysts stated that a mixed course was observed in global equity markets due to increasing concerns that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) may raise interest rates again for the rest of the year, and noted that the intense data agenda has become the focus of investors this week.
